Manual collections are collections that don't require rules or conditions and you can manually add, move and change which collections the products fall under at any given time. Any manual collections that you create will appear in the drop-down menu beside "Home page". However, the benefit of using automated collections is that you don't really have to think much! Simply create your rules and your products will fall under them accordingly
